Role Description

The Role

The Local Marketing Producer will own the local marketing plan in Los Angeles from end-to-end. You'll create a strategy that allows us to grow the business efficiently by producing events to engage with prospective students and using data on trends in our region to optimize our offerings. You'll capture and create value through high-impact, high-volume events and workshops and will be responsible for creating meaningful partnership opportunities with noteworthy companies and organizations in the Los Angeles tech, design and startup ecosystem. 

Ultimately, you will be responsible for increasing the size of the General Assembly audience and maintaining a highly engaged community that adds value to GA students, campus and business. 

Responsibilities:

Audience Growth: You’ll identify relevant audiences and the best way to bring them to General Assembly. You will serve at the local face of General Assembly and will be responsible for driving promotional efforts in the Los Angeles area.

Strategy & Planning: You’ll own and implement Los Angeles’ workshop and event plan and strategy, including the format, content and cadence as well as promotional strategy. You’ll be responsible for identifying new audiences and the best way to bring them to GA. You’ll identify the proper speakers, partners and instructors to ensure quality programming that fills the room. 

Program Execution: You’ll execute on the workshop and event plan and strategy by running approximately 50-60 free events per quarter online and in-person (when it is deemed safe to do so). You will manage a busy schedule of activity and programming that run multiple days of the week. You will also identify and market compelling topics by creating enticing event descriptions and marketing materials. You’ll collaborate with team members to brainstorm and produce department specific events, such as open houses for prospective students with Admissions and career events with our Outcomes team.

Cultivate Relationships: You’ll develop new partnerships and maintain relationships with current partners. You’ll engage local experts in tech, design, and business to participate in workshops and events as panelists, speakers, and instructors. You’ll be in charge of managing the local partner, speaker, and workshop instructor pipeline for your metro. 

Innovation: You’ll be tasked with identifying and marketing new and existing compelling topics by creating enticing event descriptions and engaging content. You’ll take ideas for new events and local campaigns from concept stage to launch. You’ll contribute your creativity and expertise to drive GA's holistic marketing plan forward, taking ideas for new events and local campaigns from concept stage through to launch.

Tracking & Reporting: You will keep track of and report on all metrics surrounding your workshop and event plan, identify opportunities and optimizations, and address metric pacing issues as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • 2-3+ years of event marketing, partnerships, or community management experience,
  • Some prior experience in startups or tech companies is ideal
  • An ability to multitask, prioritize, problem-solve, and execute in a timely fashion
  • Creativity and organization are essential to this role
